JOANNA JAXA
A journey through music and emotions.
A crossover vocalist, lyricist, songwriter and producer, Joanna Jaxa moves between classical, operatic and pop worlds, and makes each of them her own.
Joanna's foundation was set at the Manhattan School of Music, where she earned her Bachelor of Music, before refining her craft at the Royal College of Music in London with a Master of Music in Advanced Vocal Performance.
Her stage debut came at the International Jan Kiepura Music Festival, the annual event founded by the Polish music critic Bogusław Kaczyński. It led to collaborations with the Cracow Philharmonic and a special appearance at Andrea Bocelli's concert in Warsaw, and earned her the Jan Kiepura Theatre Music Award for Best Singer's Debut of the Year in 2011.
She has appeared on screen, including Blind Date and Stones for the Rampart, with Oscar-nominated cinematographer Paweł Edelman, and made her Paris Opera Bastille debut in 2015 in Puccini's Madame Butterfly.
Her album My New Wings (2022) was recorded at Abbey Road and AIR Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra; its lead single Spente le Stelle earned a Hollywood Music in Media Awards nomination. In 2024 she released Authentic Self, a thirteen-track pop record co-written by the artist, recorded at Abbey Road, and built on sincerity, depth, and the strength of women.
“Truth is the foundation of everything precious and significant in life: love, friendship, feelings, and a deeper understanding of one another. Authenticity is the first and foremost step toward creativity.”
Joanna Jaxa is the artist formerly known as Joanna Jakubas.
